Art of Welding

Each and every job requires set pattern of skills and aptitude, welding is not any exception. If you want to excel in the profession of welding practice it regularly under the guidance of some expert professional.  The skill of welding largely depends on your ability to perform the job and selection of equipments. Welding job is not a child’s play; it requires technical expertness, patience and dedication. If you are new to welding and want to pursue welding as full-time jobs first get a welder you will find a manual with it. Read this manual very carefully, here you will find all the basic instructions that a welder should know before starting his job. Your first welding instruction manual would be you’re your first teacher. It will protect you from accidents and harm.
Field of welding is very complicated and vast, there are several training course choose any welding course suiting your skill and become the master of that field. The best way to learn the art of welding is to practice it and learn the technicalities of the subject from some expert. The more you practice the better welder you will become.
Job of welding is difficult in task and it is full of danger. One should follow proper safety guide line to avoid any kind of accident. To excel in the field of welding one should follow it with full dedication. Regular practice is must to excel in this field.  Follow all safety measure even if you are at warehouse and not doing any kind of welding work, keep yourself alert and avoid any kind of accident. To protect you from any kind of accident wear helmet and protect your eyes, skin and hair. To make your welding session safe always wear helmet and gloves, even a slightest spark can give you a painful scar for a life. While doing a welding job one should wear helmet, goggles and gloves to protect themselves from any kind of accident.
It is very important to protect your eyes during welding; it is very hard on eyes even then when it is done safely. To avoid any kind of accident with your hair always wear helmet and never use gel on hair while doing welding, it could be hazardous from safety point of view.

Know More About Aluminum Welding

Aluminum welding is one of the most technical jobs of welding and learning the intricacies of aluminum welding is very important for those who are interested in making welding their full-fledged profession. It is very important to learn all the details of aluminum welding including how to choose welding equipment, preparing base material etc.
Aluminum welding is quite different from steel welding even if you are expert in steel welding handling aluminum welding could be a challenge for you. Because of higher thermal conductivity and low melting point welding of aluminum requires efficiency. Due to its lower column strength the aluminum wire tends to tangle at the drive roll and it is one of the biggest challenge is feeding aluminum welding wire during gas metal arc welding.
Once you are ready for the welding first and foremost step should be cleaning the base material and remove aluminum oxide and hydrocarbon contamination. One of the best methods to remove aluminum oxide is to use a stainless-steel bristle wire brush, move it in one direction with light hands.  Degreaser is used for removing hydrocarbon from oil.
To avoid cracking during welding preheat the aluminum work piece. It is a good practice to preheat the thick piece of aluminum when welding it to a thin piece. Use run-on and run-off tabs to correct the cold lapping.
To reduce weld contamination use push the gun away technique from the weld puddle rather than pulling it. It will also improve shielding-gas coverage.
Aluminum welding procedure is hot and fast in comparison to steel welding. While working on thin-gage aluminum sheet one has to manage fast speed otherwise there are high chances of burn through on aluminum sheet.
Argon gas is highly recommendable for aluminum welding due to its good cleaning action and penetration profile.  To minimize the formation of magnesium oxide in welding 5xxx series aluminum alloy a shielding gas mixture combining argon with helium is used.
Always choose aluminum filler wire that has a melting temperature similar to base material as welding wire. Use 3/64- or 1/16- diameter wire, the larger the wire diameter you use the better and easier it feeds. For welding thin-gage material use 0.035 inch diameter wire combined with a pulsed- welding procedure at a low wire-feed speed -100 to 300 in./min.
Always use separate gun liner for welding aluminum.

World of Welding

Field of wielding is very diverse, the more you explore it more knowledge you will get regarding it. Here we will discuss different types of welding.

Stick welding also called as arch welding is the one of the oldest method of welding. Here two stick electrodes are bunched in electrode holder. Stick welding is very simple and cheap. Stick welding equipment will cost less than $300, and it is easy to learn by also.

If you are new to welding start learning welding from MIG welding. It is one of the easiest forms of welding. It includes two types of welding bare wire mig and flux core welding. Bare wire mig is used for thinner metal flux core is more handy and it is ideal for outdoors. This one is also easy to use and more practical in comparison to stick welding.

TIG welding:

Now the complicacy of welding starts with TIG welding. The equipment of TIG welding is costlier than stick welding and MIG welding. It requires more dexterity to control torch and rod. TIG welding is useful for welding various metals. TIG welding is mostly used for welding metals like stainless steel, nickel alloy, aluminum, magnesium, titanium, carbon and low alloy steel, copper alloy and cobalt.

Plasma arc welding:

Plasma arc welding is higher level of welding and it is generally used in aerospace application, jet engine blade repair where thickness is below than .015. Plasma arc welding is used when high precision is required.

Gas welding is one of the old and most common types of welding. Gas welding is mostly used for automotive exhaust application. Some people even use gas welding for welding aluminum also.

Electron beam and laser welding: These are most advance techniques of welding, they are far better than conventional methods.

For a common people welding is very easy, but only the professional know how complicated it is, it is not just about running torch across any kind of metal, but welding is an art and only after enough practice one can master this art. To become an expert welder start practicing and achieve mastery in this field. Like all professions it also needs dedication, commitment and sincerity. Follow healthy and safe way of welding. Always wear helmet, eye-glass gloves and proper clothes to avoid any kind of accident or miss-happening.
